The lonely sea man seeks solitude and comfort in the vast open ocean. He discovered the peacefulness of the water slapping and splashing against the side of the boat’s hull, through the distraction that comes with the intense focus of maneuvering the boat and harnessing the wind. Riding currents and finding those elusive channels of gusts that flow along the coast this time of year. The Sailor finds comfort in being distracted by the problems in his reality on land. Whereas the problems seem to vanish when he’s on the sea. The vast open sea makes him feel minuscule, it humbles the sailor reminding him that his problems are nothing more than issues looking for solutions. The sailor is reminded of his insignificance and how the world tends to make things more difficult than they need to be.
